“…We provided the first systematic and wide‐scale examination of cross‐cultural variance in the Dark Triad traits. Narcissistic countries (if there is such a thing; Johnson, 2020) appear to be less advanced, consistent with the scarcity hypothesis, and sex differences in narcissism appear larger in more advanced places, mostly as a function of a diminishing return on being narcissistic provided for women in these modern places. Although sex differences in Machiavellianism rates were insensitive to country‐level factors, there were hints that more advanced places were more Machiavellian, a finding that supports a liberalization hypothesis.…”

“…Essa exposição pode ser tratada para alcançar notoriedade, para suprir algo faltante, seja algo real ou que se projeta (deseja-se, fantasia-se) existir (Laplanche & Pontalis, 1996). O narcisismo tem recebido considerável atenção dos pesquisadores como uma variável de diferença individual (Johnson, 2020).…”

“…Following the method adopted by L. K. Johnson (2020) in using MLM to examine the predictive roles of two-level factors, five steps were used to answer the research questions in this study. First, a null model (Model 1 in Tables S3-S8) was developed to calculate the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), an index of the proportion of between-province variation in the six dimensions of SWB.…”
