“…The author highlighted that propolis contains many bioactive compounds such as amino acids, sugars, vitamins (B group, C and E), minerals, terpenes and sesquiterpenes, as well as many mineral elements (i.e., K, Mg, Ca, Cu, Zn, Mn, and Fe), hence it was recommended for overcoming the adverse effect of saline conditions and improving growth, yield and chemical composition of spinach. Onion ( A. cepa L.) is considered as one of the most commercially valuable vegetables cultivated worldwide, as it ranks second on the list of worldwide cultivated vegetable crops, after tomatoes (Semida, Abd El‐Mageed, Hemida, & Rady, 2019). Ascorbic acid content in onion bulbs can be enhanced by seaweed based biostimulants, as shown by Abbas et al (2020); treated by diluted bee honey, onion plants showed better tolerance to salt stress and the authors concluded that diluted honey extract can be used as inexpensive plant biostimulant or a nutritive mean under normal or abnormal conditions, as economic and natural source of mineral nutrients, amino acids, osmoprotectants and antioxidants, instead of their expensive synthetic ones.…”
