Software testing is as old as software itself. However, the techniques, tools, and processes used by researchers to ensure product quality are constantly evolving. Application of knowledge management technologies in automated test case generation is one of them. This paper addressed the issue of ontology-based automated test case generation in the case of black box testing. In this context, several challenges are present in existing literature. The prime challenges among are (1) major approaches are confined to a specific domain, (2) least consideration about modified domain knowledge, (3) lack of methodology for auto-identification of pre-conditions and different combinations among test input data and (4) poor requirements and domain coverage. The proposed methodology, in this paper, is aimed to resolve these issues by devising a rule-based reasoner that can auto generate the test cases. The proposed method takes an ontology-based requirements specification as an input. The novelty of the proposed method is the specification of domain independent inference rules based on which the devised reasoner can generate test cases for different domains and systems automatically. This contribution of the proposed work facilitates in improving both user's requirements coverage and domain coverage. The devised reasoned, in this paper, is implemented in Apache Jena (Apache Jena, https ://jena.apach e.org., Accessed 2020/09/04). In addition, the usability of the proposed work is illustrated using a suitable case study. Testing is a paramount quality assurance activity in every software development project, especially for embedded, safety critical systems. During the test process, a lot of effort is put into the generation of test cases. The presented OSTAG project aimed at developing methods and techniques to automate the software test case generation for black-box testing. The proposed approach was based on the creation of a software requirements ontology and the application of inference rules on the ontology to derive test cases. The ontology represents knowledge of the requirements, the software system and the corresponding application domain while the inference rules formalize knowledge from documents and experienced testers in the domain of test planning and test case generation. A software prototype of the approach was implemented and one of the industrial project partners evaluated the results. An alternative method for generating test cases, based on genetic algorithms, was also explored.

O agrupamento por similaridade representa uma etapa relevante nas estratégias de descoberta e composição de serviços web. Muitos métodos de agrupamento processam as descrições dos serviços em linguagem natural para estimar o grau de correlação entre eles. Entretanto, a utilização de bases de conhecimento em idiomas específicos limita a aplicabilidade desses métodos. Neste artigo e proposto um modelo multilíngue para agrupamento de serviços web similares a partir das suas descrições em linguagem natural. Em particular, foi aplicado o Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), um método de Recuperação da Informação (RI) independente da língua e do domínio. Além disso, foi feita uma análise experimental com três medidas de similaridade, a fim de determinar qual delas e mais adequada à detecção de serviços web duplicados a partir das descrições dos serviços em dois idiomas.
