This study aims to develop an Android-based interactive electronic module as a learning resource for students majoring in history education at the State University of Medan, Indonesia in the National Movement History course. The current digital era requires lecturers to be more creative and innovative in developing learning resources that can reach and attract students who are technology and information literate and proficient. In developing this module, the researcher used the research and development model of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The advantages of this model are simple, easy to learn and systematic structure. In addition, the researcher also involved experts in the material (content), linguistic, and presentation aspects. The results showed that this module is very feasible, effective and interactive as a learning resource. It can be seen from the results of the first stage the average score of the first stage is 3.48 (good). While the average score of the material expert assessment in the second stage is 4.13, if it is presented then the number is 82.6%, it means that the feasibility value of the product developed based on the material expert's assessment is in the Eligible category.

A needs analysis will assist ESL practitioners in designing instructional materials more efficiently by filling in the gaps where language learning is lacking. By adapting Hutchinson and Waters' (1987) needs-analysis model, this study investigates ESL pre-university learners’ English academic vocabulary learning needs as regards their attitude, learning experience, preferred learning method, and preferred content for a web-based learning resource. A questionnaire survey was distributed to 117 ESL Life Sciences Foundation students from a foundation studies centre in Kuala Lumpur. The quantitative data collected were analysed descriptively using SPSS Version 26. The findings showed that the learners had positive attitudes towards learning academic vocabulary. Even so, they faced language issues rooted in their lack thereof, particularly in productive skills, such as academic speaking and writing. Their current implicit ways of acquiring academic words and limited resources need to be revised. They also displayed high interest and readiness to explore other learning means, such as a web-based learning resource. The learning needs in the resource include presenting academic words in contexts through sample sentences and by using basic English words, such as synonyms. Additionally, learners need various vocabulary learning exercise types and multimedia. The study informs ESL practitioners on the criteria and elements to be considered to design, development, and successful delivery of academic vocabulary instruction that is effective, practical, and contextualised.

The purpose of this development research is to create a new product in the form of a Symbol and Visits (SaV) learning model as well as to test the level of effectiveness in improving the mastery of teaching materials for the Learning Strategy course. The research method uses the ADDIE approach with the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research data were collected using documentation and test methods. The data collected in this research uses documentation, observation, interview, and test techniques. The research sample was 14 students of the Economic Education Study Program for the limited trial, 28 for the broad trial, and 62 for the operational test. The results of the study in the form of data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive. Qualitative descriptive was conducted by analyzing pre-survey data and internal design testing. The quantitative analysis consisted of a limited trial, a broad trial, and an operational trial. Student learning outcomes at the operational test stage obtained an average value of 83.61, an increase compared to the limited trial of 70.92, and the broad trial of 81.42. The results showed that the development of the SaV model was able to improve the mastery of teaching materials in the Learning Strategy course for students of the Economic Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo.
