“…If any region B or C sequences were acquired by the meningococcus by descent, they could not be identified in these sequence analyses ( Figure 4). The novel species N. weixii 48 was identified as a possible candidate ( Figure 3 and Figure 4), described as being isolated from the Tibetan Plateau Pika ( Ochotona curzoniae ) in the Qinghai Province, China (GenBank accession CP023429.1). This isolate contained sequences homologous to the N. animalis putative region A between its region C and region D homologues ( Figure 1B).…”

“…Members of the genus Arthrobacter were isolated from a variety of sources, including animals [6,7], cheese [8], glaciers [9,10], humans [11][12][13], sediments [14] and soil [15]. While investigating the microbiota of the Tibetan Plateau wildlife in PR China, we recently isolated some novel bacterial species from plateau pika (Ochotona curzoniae) and Tibetan wild ass (Equus kiang), including Actinomyces gaoshouyii [16], Neisseria chenwenguii [17], Neisseria weixii [18] and Norcardoides yefusunii [19]. Both yellow in colour, strain 785 T was isolated from the intestinal content of a plateau pika and strain 208 was from faeces of a Tibetan wild ass.…”

“…Coloured pink, strains J391 T and J915, were isolated from droppings of ruddy shelduck (Tadorna ferruginea). The droppings samples of ruddy shelducks were freshly collected in 5 ml sterile tubes immediately after the birds flew away at different geographical locations (91° 48′ 22″ E, 27° 54′ 23″ N and 91° 58′ 53″ E, 27° 59′ 16″ N) of Cona County of Tibet and those of plateau pika and Tibetan wild ass were collected, transported and handled as described in our previous studies [16][17][18][19].…”

“…The International Code of Nomenclature of Prokaryotes (ICNP) subcommittee for the family Neissericeae has been inactive since 1982 and there are no minimal standards. Therefore, we performed the phenotypic characteristics on the basis of recent Neisseria species descriptions [3,4,8,32]. Strains were grown on different growth media, including TSA plates, Columbia agar with 10% horse blood and Brain Heart Infusion (BHI).…”
