New Antibacterial Secondary Metabolites from a Marine-Derived Talaromyces sp. Strain BTBU20213036

Abstract: New polyketide-derived oligophenalenone dimers, bacillisporins K and L (1 and 2) and xanthoradone dimer rugulosin D (3), together with four known compounds, bacillisporin B (4), macrosporusone D (5), rugulosin A and penicillide (6 and 7), were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Talaromyces sp. BTBU20213036. Their structures were determined by detailed analysis of HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR data, and the absolute configurations were determined on the basis of calculated and experimental electronic circular dic… Show more

“…The pigments are considered as secondary metabolites of Talaromyces sp. strains and are described as esters, including macrolides, linear polyesters, aromatic lactones, coumarins, phthalides and they show various biological activities, including antibacterial (Song et al 2022). The antimicrobial activity detected in Talaromyces sp.…”

“…This paper focuses on the isolation, detailed structure elucidation, and antimicrobial activity evaluation of these compounds. [19,20]. Further research on a marine-derived fungus from Qinzhou Bay, Guangxi Province, China, resulted in the identification of twelve compounds, including six new compounds, talamitones A and B (1 and 2), demethyltalamitone B (3), talamiisocoumaringlycosides A and B (4 and 5), and talaminaphtholglycoside (6), along with six reported compounds, mucorisocoumarin B (7), diaportinol (8), peniisocoumarin E (9), dichlorodiaportin (10), orsellinic acid (11), and 4-(hydroxymethyl)-5-hydroxy-2H-pyran-2-one (12) (Figure 1), from T. minnesotensis BTBT20220184 .…”
