This relationship may partially explain why some victims say the severity of the crime would prevent them from meeting the offender (Gustafson, 2005; Umbreit et al, 2002; Van Camp & Wemmers, 2016), even though there does not appear to be any evidence for an overall relationship between severity and willingness to meet. “…(ZEHR, 2006, p. 411) Como foi sugerido pela professora Elizabeth Elliott em conferência sobre Justiça Restaurativa 7 , esta, como um tipo ideal de justiça (e de certa forma também em suas práticas), tem sua existência e o seu conhecimento baseados numa consciência assentada em duas principais características ou principios: (i) na ética da responsabilidade coletiva (o que a professora Elizabeth Elliott comentou sobre os valores universais); e (ii) nas relações interpessoais. (ELLIOT; GORDON, 2005) Isso implica que este modelo de justiça leve em consideração a multidimensionalidade humana (RAMOS, 1981;ROSS, 1996;SALM, 2009).
