New Evaluation of Neutron Nuclear Data for Zinc Isotopes

Abstract: New evaluation of neutron-induced nuclear data for five stable isotopes of zinc (mass numbers A ¼ 64, 66, 67, 68, and 70) was consistently carried out in the incident neutron energy range from 10 À5 eV up to 20 MeV. In the low energy region up to about 100 keV, the resonance parameters were evaluated by taking account of the available measured data. In the fast neutron region, the comprehensive calculations with nuclear reaction models, in which compound, preequilibrium, and direct processes are taken into acc… Show more

“…Nonetheless to say, it corresponds to neutroninduced reactions on 237 U, or surrogate reaction such as 236 U( 18 O, 16 O) 238 U. The calculation was carried out by CCONE code system [5]. Parameters used to generate JENDL actinide file 2008 [8] were used.…”

“…The details of some evaluations are given elsewhere. [80,81,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89] The data on Zn were newly evaluated [80]. The RRPs of 64,66−68 Zn were mainly based on the data measured at ORNL.…”

“…Thus, nuclear model calculations play a significant role in evaluation. Two statistical model codes POD [3] and CCONE [4] have been developed to reflect recent advances a Presenting author, e-mail: shibata.keiichi@jaea.go.jp in nuclear theories on evaluation. The POD code is mainly used in the evaluation for medium and medium-heavy nuclei.…”

“…On the other hand, the spherical optical model cannot reproduce the experimental data in the mass region from A = 150 to 200. Evaluations of Zn [17] and Nd isotopes were performed by using the optical model parameters thus obtained. For example, figures 10 and 11 show the calculated (n,p) cross section of 64 Zn and γ-ray emission spectra for elemental Zn, respectively.…”
