New Full-Frequency-Range Supercapacitor Model With Easy Identification Procedure

Abstract: Energy storage has become a key issue for achieving goals connected with increasing the efficiency of both producers and users. In particular, supercapacitors currently seem to be interesting devices for many applications because they can supply high power for a significant amount of time and can be recharged more quickly than electrochemical batteries. In different applications, a combination of the two devices, batteries and supercapacitors, could be used to develop a high-efficiency storage system with a high … Show more

“…For example, some researchers have applied small-amplitude techniques such as impedance spectroscopy [57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70], while others have applied large-amplitude techniques such as cyclic voltammetry [71][72][73][74][75][76][77]. A few pioneers have even performed computer simulations [78][79][80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87][88][89][90].…”

“…A detailed description of the correlation between electrical circuit elements and the physical processes occurring within the cell during operation has been complete by numerous authors, [15,21,33]. The following works study the effect of transmission line length, [15], and the the number of RC branches, [34]. Figure 4 shows the evolution of the constituents of a pore within the electrode from an uncharged state to a fully charged state, and their representation in the model.…”

“…This model comes from the first branch in the EDLC model [24]. The apparent reason for only considering the first branch appears to be that an LIC's linear dependency on the discharging current is stronger than that of an EDLC.…”
