“…The samples of L. sativae and L. huidobrensis were obtained from different host species from families confirming their polyphagy, as also observed for L. brassicae , although the latter clearly exhibits a preference for Brassicaceae (Parrella, ; Reitz & Trumble, ). Less information is available regarding C. malvae , although, in the present study, we recorded its occurrence in okra (Malvaceae) and beans (Fabaceae), whereas this leafminer has been mainly reported as associated with weeds near agriculture crops (Santos et al ., ; Servín et al ., ). The high polyphagy of L. sativae , which was observed in all host plants sampled except Malvaceae, aided by its recognized ample distribution among vegetable crops, allows the recognition of this leafminer as the main leafminer fly species in Brazil.…”
