From (Ic) and (IIb), the hydroxy sulfide (IV) is obtained as the main product. Similar cyclosulfenylation reactions are performed with the N-alkenylamides (V) and (VII) or the derivatives (IX) and (XI), yielding the heterocycles (VI),(VIII), (X), and (XII).
