Nitrogen fixation and other biogeochemically important features of Atacama Desert giant horsetail plant microbiomes inferred from metagenomic contig analysis

Abstract: Background and Aims Canyon streambeds in the hyperarid Atacama Desert surprisingly harbor magnificent groves of endemic giant horsetail wetland plants, Equisetum xylochaetum.
