Nocardiopsins: New FKBP12‐Binding Macrolide Polyketides from an Australian Marine‐Derived Actinomycete, Nocardiopsis sp.

Abstract: A marine-derived actinomycete, Nocardiopsis sp. (CMB-M0232), obtained from a sediment sample collected at a depth of 55 m off the coast of Brisbane, Australia, yielded two new macrolide polyketides. Structures for nocardiopsins A and B were assigned by detailed spectroscopic analysis, degradation and chemical derivatization. A Marfey's analysis revealed an unexpected acid-mediated partial racemization of the L-pipecolic acid incorporated within the nocardiopsins. The scope of this racemization was assessed aga… Show more

“…39 Many of them display interesting bioactivities such as FKBP12 binding activity, 26 apoptosis, 29 cytotoxicity, 31,33,37 macrophage activating properties, 34 and an inhibitory effect on TNF-α-induced NFκB activation. 39 However, little is known about the secondary metabolites of halophilic actinomycetes.…”

“…Actinobacteria exhibit various physiological and metabolic properties such as the production of extracellular enzymes further the formation of a wide variety of secondary metabolites including some antibiotics in use today are derived from natural actinobacteria and fungi products (Raju et al, 2010;Porsani, et al, 2013;Manivasagan et al, 2014;Sathiyanarayanan et al, 2014;Rashad et al, 2015;Romano et al, 2016;Dalitz, et al, 2016;Alvarez et al, 2017). In addition, different styles of life are found among actinobacteria thus this phylum includes pathogens (eg.…”

“…As actinobactérias apresentam diversas propriedades metabólicas e fisiológicas, com grande variedade de metabólitos secundários e produção de enzimas extracelulares de alta aplicabilidade nas indústrias (RAJU et al, 2010; ANZAI et al, 2008, DURAIPANDIYAN et al, 2010. As Streptomyces e outros actinomicetos são responsáveis por grande parte dos produtos metabólicos com atividade biotecnológicos (GAMA et al, 2012;PACHECO DA ROSA et al, 2013).…”
