Noise-like pulses with 2.15 MHz repetition rate in an all-polarization-maintaining mode-locked fiber laser at the center wavelength of 1550 nm

Abstract: We demonstrate a 2.15 MHz repetition-rate mode-locked figure-of-9 erbium-doped fiber laser at a center wavelength of 1550 nm by using an all-polarization-maintaining nonlinear amplifying loop mirror configuration. This laser can be self-started mode-locked and generate Gaussian-shape noise-like pulses (NLPs). The single pulse energy is approximately 11.68 nJ at a repetition rate of 2.15 MHz.
