Notice of Retraction: Study on high-speed cutting of hi-Cr cast iron impeller and sheath of slurry pump using overall PCBN cutting tools

Abstract: Problems in the process of machining hi-Cr white cast iron slurry pump were analyzed. The overall PCBN(Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting tools were selected to cut impeller and sheath of slurry pump at high speed. The flank wear and cutting performance of ceramic cutting tools and PCBN cutting tools in process of high-speed cutting hi-chromium white cast iron Cr26 were comparative studied. Examples justified overall PCBN cutting tools possess the excellent performance of increasing cutter lifetime a… Show more

“…In recent years there has been increased interest in engineering ceramic materials because of their excellent combination of high strength, high hardness and exceptional chemical stability [34], however, it is generally accepted that ceramic materials are difficult to be machined, and are easily eroded due to the propagation and intersection of cracks that was produced by impacting particles, namely show a brittle erosion mechanism [35]. In the paper of H.C. SHEN et al [36], PCBN, a kind of glomerocryst matter derived from sintering well-chosen CBN crystalloids (to be served as the fundamental ingredient) and anchoring agent under high temperature and high pressure, its hardness, generally about 3500HV, is 2 times of ceramic blade and 4 times of Hi-Cr alloy blade.…”
