“…These isolates came from varied environments such as high-altitude aerosols collected at 26 000 m, sediment, rock, root, and water—distinct from the habitats of previously reported type strains. The characteristics of strains ‘ Noviherbaspirillum galbum ’ 17J57-3 [40], ‘ Noviherbaspirillum sedimentum ’ K1S02-23, ‘ Noviherbaspirillum cavernae ’ K2R10-39, and ‘ Noviherbaspirillum rocha ’ K1R23-30 [41] have been described, and they have been deposited in culture collections. The metadata and phenotypic data of these strains are crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the potential diversity, distribution, and ecology of Noviherbaspirillum members.…”

“…Transmission electron microscopy imaging was performed at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Beijing, PR China). Thermal growth range was determined by incubating strains on NA media at various temperatures, as follows 4,10,15,20,25,28,30,35,37,40,42, and 45 °C. NaCl tolerability was assessed on NA medium with different NaCl concentrations (0-10 %, w/v, at intervals of 0.5 %) for 7 days.…”

“…nov. At the time of writing, the genus Noviherbaspirillum was composed of fifteen validly named species (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/searchword=Noviherbaspirillum). Strains of the genus Noviherbaspirillum have been isolated from diverse environments such as, soil [2][3][4][5], oil-contaminated site [1], grassland soil [6], air [7,8], rice paddy soil [9], human stool [10] and soil from a glacier [11]. Members of the genus Noviherbaspirillum are Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped, motile by single or many polar flagella [1,6] and chemotaxonomically characterized as having C 16 : 0 , C 16 : 1 ω 7 c/ C 16 : 1 ω 6 c (Summed feature 3) and C 18 : 1 ω 7 c/C 18 : 1 ω 6 c (Summed feature 8) as dominant fatty acids, while diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylglycerol (PG) and phosphatidylcholine (PC) as major polar lipids and ubiquinone 8 (Q-8) as predominant respiratory quinone [1].…”

“…These species have been isolated from soil, air, oil-contaminated sites, grassland, and volcanic mountain (Lin et al 2013;Sundararaman et al 2016;Chaudhary and Kim 2017;Ishii et al 2017). Recently, "Noviherbaspirillum galbum" and Noviherbaspirillum aerium have been isolated from soil and air samples (Park et al 2020;Xue et al 2020). This study aimed to present the taxonomic description of strain DKR-6 T , which was retrieved from the oil-contaminated experimental soil, and propose the name as Noviherbaspirillum pedocola sp.…”
