ntestinal Metaplasia in Barrett’s Oesophagus: A Clinicopathological Study

Abstract: Introduction: The incidence of Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma (EAC) has increased at a faster rate than any other cancer in the developed nations. Despite advances in treatment, five year survival rate for EAC is <15%. Till date, Barrett’s Oesophagus (BE) is the only known precursor of EAC increasing its risk by greater than 30 to 60 fold.
