Numerical Analysis of Functionally Graded Materials Using Reproducing Kernel Particle Method

Abstract: The reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM) for the elastic mechanical problems of the functionally graded materials (FGM) is proposed in this paper. The corresponding formulae of the RKPM for the FGM are derived. Furthermore, the control parameter of influence domain radius, penalty factor and different node distribution on the calculation accuracy are discussed. The different functional gradient exponents of the FGM are analyzed. The numerical results illustrate that the RKPM is correct and effective to so… Show more

“…Wing strength was achieved by means of stress analysis study, while wing vibration amplitudes and shapes were achieved by means of Modal and Harmonic analysis [21]. Liu et al [22] worked on functionally graded materials to study elasticity by using reproducing kernel particle method. There results concludes that this method is effective and nice approach for study.…”

“…However, the strong form-based meshless collation method also has the drawbacks of poor accuracy and stability. The element-free Galerkin (EFG) method [22], reproducing kernel particle method [23,24], local Petrov-Galerkin method [25], and boundary integral equation method [26] belong to the weak-from meshless method. Sometimes meshless methods based on weak forms may have weak computational efficiency.…”
