Numerical investigations of stress-deformation responses in fractured paediatric bones with prosthetic bone plates

Abstract: Nearly 25% of paediatric injuries happen due to fractures of femur bones, either under accidental or inflicted conditions. In the present investigation, static analyses are performed for fractured paediatric femur bones of children joined with bone plates using finite element method (FEM) approach to find stresses and deformations in the bone and plate assembly under axial compressive and torsional loadings. The investigation aims to suggest the suitable biomaterial for fracture fixation bone plates modeled us… Show more

“…[48] studied the effect of three major process parameters such as layer thickness, infill density, and raster angle on mechanical properties of ABS using RSM and analyzation tool was used MINITAB [14], [49] and concluded these mentioned parameters have great influence the mechanical properties. Researchers have created a dog bone and notched FDM based 3D printed sample to determine the optimum values of printing parameters for superior mechanical properties [23], [24], [44], [50]. The selected parameters were infill density, print bed temperature, and layer thickness and mechanical properties were investigated with the influence of mentioned parameters with the help of RSM [4]- [6], [41], [48].…”
