Numerical Simulation of Steel-Reinforced Reactive Powder Concrete Beam Based on Bond-Slip

Abstract: In this study, based on the concrete damaged plasticity (CDP) model in the ABAQUS software, various plastic damage factor calculation methods were introduced to obtain CDP parameters suitable for reactive powder concrete (RPC) materials. Combined with the existing tests for the bending performance of steel-reinforced RPC beams, the CDP parameters of the RPC material were input into ABAQUS to establish a finite element model considering the bond and slip between the steel and RPC for numerical simulation. The l… Show more

“…Spiral steel bar is one of the main reinforcement forms in the anchorage zone of concrete, which can constrain the core concrete to improve the local bearing capacity and effectively reduce the cracks in the serviceability stage (Hadhood et al, 2017). The elastic-plastic model is selected to simulate the erected steel bar and spiral steel bar (Li et al, 2021;Shafieifar et al, 2018). The elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio are used to define the linear elastic behavior of steel.…”

“…For all steels, the bilinear strengthening model has been adopted, while the CDP model has been adopted for UHPC. According to the UHPC uniaxial stress-strain relationship curve shown above, combined with the concrete plastic damage model in ABAQUS, the damage factor can be calculated using the energy loss method described in the literature [61], with the other plastic damage parameters being the same as those in the literature [32]. The nominal stress-strain of all materials is in this way converted into real stress-strain, and the elastic-plastic properties of all materials are entered into the material property model in ABAQUS.…”

“…There are few reports on the finite element simulation of lap-spliced UHPC beams considering the bond-slip. Li et al [36] established a finite element model of steelskeleton UHPC beam considering the bond-slip for numerical simulation. They selected the appropriate constitutive relationship and damage factor calculation method.…”
