Nutratherapeutics approach against cancer: tomato‐mediated synthesised gold nanoparticles

Abstract: In this study, an eco-friendly biosynthesis of stable gold nanoparticles (T-GNPs) was carried out using different concentrations of tomato juice (nutraceuticals) as a reducing agent and tetrachloroauric acid as a metal precursor to explore their potential application in cancer therapeutics. The synthesis of T-GNPs was monitored by UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, which unveiled their formation by exhibiting the typical surface plasmon absorption maxima at 522 nm. The size of T-GNPs was found to be 10.86 ± 0… Show more

“…Subsequently, the consideration of NPs with neurotrophic impacts has become a modern hotspot within the NDDs study field [ 126 ]. Nanotechnology’s rapid growth and wide range of uses necessitate a strategy for creating safe NPs [ 164 ]. The architecture of the surface is a key role in the physicochemical properties of metallic particles that influences their mechanism of action in organic or natural environments [ 10 ].…”

“…In addition, the phytochemicals of plant extracts can stabilize the nanomaterials, leading to relatively higher stability [ 16 , 17 , 18 ]. In some cases, plant enzymes like bromelain and vegetable wastes or their extracts have been used to synthesize AuNPs [ 19 , 20 , 21 ]. Adding to these benefits, metallic nanoparticles, notably AuNPs, synthesized for applications in medicine are known to possess antifungal properties, particularly against pathogens capable of causing respiratory infections [ 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 ].…”
