Nutritional Requirements of Salmonella Paratyphi and Its Terminal Respiratory Pattern

Abstract: As for the nutritional requirements of Salmonella paratyphi A, Lederberg (1) has already given a short description in his paper on the nutrition of Salmonella. Result observed on him shows that among the total 8 strains of Salmonella parat,yphi A examined, 5 were capable of growing on a simple synthetic medium containing glucose, salts and asparagine, and 2 required tryptophan (or indol) or both methionine and triptophane for growth.
