NVQs: the impact of competence approaches

Abstract: explores the impact of the competence-based approach associated with National/Scottish Vocational Qualifications (N/SVQs) and national standards, particularly from an individual and organizational perspective. He compares and contrasts the fundamental differences between a traditional coursedriven examination approach to one of individual development and assessment of performance in the workplace.
