Oil Sludge and Methods of Its Disposal

Abstract: One of the most promising ways to utilize wastes from the oil extracting and oil refining industries, in particular oil sludge, is their processing into valuable construction and road materials. Solving this issue can help reduce the negative impact on the environment, rational use of natural resources and improve the state's economy. In this regard, it is important to conduct research on the physical and chemical properties and thermal characteristics of oil sludge samples taken at oil refineries of the Repub… Show more

“…The original pyrite concentrate and zincoligonite ore have a zero magnetic susceptibility value, and the roasting product of the original ore has a low magnetic susceptibility value, which ranges from 0.01-0.2 SI units when the temperature changes from 650 to 750 ºC [ [18], [19], [20], [21], [22], [23], [24]].…”

“…The TGA curves of geopolymers can be divided into four areas [26]: -region I -mass loss below 100ºC is attributed to the evaporation of hygroscopic water; -region II -mass loss from 100 to 300ºC, where structural water evaporates from the geopolymer gel [27][28][29]; -region III -weight loss from 300ºC to 800ºC is due to the removal of structural water as a result of the condensation of silanol and aluminol groups from the geopolymer gel with the formation of Si-O-T tetrahedral bonds (T = Si or Al) [27]; -region IV -at temperatures above 800ºC, which explains the thermal decomposition of the material, above this temperature in [28] is considered the beginning of the sintering reaction and the formation of a ceramic body.
