“…When a packet segment is lost the receiver side sends a duplicate ACK and the Fast Retransmit algorithm deduces that a segment has been lost and retransmits the lost packet; Fast Recovery allows TCP to recover packet without returning to the slow start phase. In particular for TCP Reno n SST is set to W cwnd /2 and W cwnd is reported to 1 [13,14], On the other hand when a packet loss is detected by a retransmission time out expiration and when TCP detects packet loss by the fast retransmission algorithm, W cwnd is reported to n SST and n SST is set to W cwnd /2.
