On the Attribution of Mercury’s Perihelion Precession

Abstract: Although Newtonian gravity and general relativity predicted the precession of Mercury perihelion historically, many improved methods continue to predict the precession of Mercury during recent decades of years. Uncertainties in various predictions and observations suggest that the attribution of Mercury's precession is still not well understood. This paper argues that the cause of Mercury's precession is not gravity, but the inertia of material motion left over from the formation of the solar system. According… Show more

“…General relativity has implicit physical meaning in equations because it describes structures in the real world using geometric mathematics. Therefore, general relativity can describe Mercury precession more accurately than Newtonian gravity [41]. The mathematical form used by special relativity is a coordinate system transformation while its essence of illusory space time transformations is mathematically wonderful and a distortion of the physical world.…”

“…The presence of mass deforms space time, and the particle path curves towards the mass [40]. That is why in describing the precession of Mercury for that the general relativi-ty has achieved greater success than Newton's gravity [41]. General relativity is a development of Newton's theory of gravity.…”

“…In addition to the rotation of the Moon, there are other three-level motions: 1) an elliptical motion relative to the center of the Earth-Moon system (rotation around the Earth) and the precession caused by them, 2) an elliptic orbit around the Sun with the Earth and the precession caused by them, and 3) the movement of the Sun around the center of the Milky Way and the precession caused by them. The elliptical motion of the Moon relative to the Earth is characterized by the same as that of Mercury relative to the Sun [25]. In the multi-level environment of the Earth, the Sun and the Milky Way, the Moon's orbit also changes at different scales.…”

“…Equation (25) indicates that the Moon's orbit is an eccentric ellipse and not circular. From their formation process of planets and moons, the Moon does not orbit at the Earth's equatorial plane.…”
