On the Infimal Sub-differential Size of Primal-Dual Hybrid Gradient Method

Abstract: Primal-dual hybrid gradient method (PDHG, a.k.a. Chambolle and Pock method [9]) is a well-studied algorithm for structured minimax optimization problems with wide applications, initially in image processing and more recently in large-scale linear programming. In this paper, we propose a new progress metric for analyzing PDHG, which we dub infimal sub-differential size (IDS). IDS is a natural extension of the gradient norm of smooth problems to non-smooth problem. Compared with traditional progress metrics of P… Show more

“…The phase of the magnetization was further modulated by low amplitude 2D polynomials, approximating residual phases in the acquisition model. Following the signal model (60), we generated images for the inversion times 0.05 s, 0.1 s, 0.2 s, 0.35 s, 0.5 s, 1.0 s, 1.5 s, 2 s, 3 s, 4 s and transformed them into (undersampled) Cartesian k-space. The number of simulated receiver coils was 8.…”
