“…In Electricite' De France laboratory, cables and pieces of electrical equipments have been aged under normal and accidental conditions. To simulate normal ageing under gamma radiation, qualification standards (IEC-60544) of electrical equipments recommend the application of only one dose rate between 100 and 100000 Gy/h [20].The mechanical properties of irradiated silicone rubber and ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber has been investigated at dose rates of 0.14 and 0.47 kGy/h [17,19].
