OPEN: Optimized Path Planning Algorithm with Energy Efficiency and Extending Network - Lifetime in WSN

Abstract: In Wireless Sensors Networks (WSNs), researcher's primary focus is on energy preservation and prolonging network lifetime. More energy resources are required in case of remote applications of WSNs, where during active network stage some of the nodes die early, that shortens the network lifetime and decreases the stability of the network. It is mainly caused due to the non-optimal Cluster Heads (CHs) selection based on the single criterion and uneven distribution of energy. We propose a new distributed clusteri… Show more

“…Therefore, classification of aerial networks routing protocols is in the development phase; due to that, FANETs relay on traditional MANET routing protocols [ 5 , 6 ]. The OPEN routing protocol is a designed novel strategy which is based on (i) residual energy, (ii) node density, and (iii) distance from its neighbors; these metrics are used for electing cluster head (CH) [ 7 ]. In [ 8 ], authors tested the optimal ant-based distance protocol.…”

“…A multi-path routing algorithm to transmit data from source nodes to BS is proposed [28].The algorithm is focused on the residual energy on the hop count to discover the optimized path, which is added to the routing table. The optimized path is based on ant colony optimization (ACO) [30].…”

“…Shah et al (2017) proposed the DEEG (A routing protocol for enhanced efficiency in wireless sensor networks) protocol, which takes into account the residual energy of the node, and communicates through the routing between the different clusters, thus effectively reducing the consumption of the communication energy between the clusters. Then, they improved DEEG and proposed the EADEEG protocol, which uses the best radius to cluster, and improves the routing between clusters with energy, which arrives at the number of rounds that postpone the node death of WSN [7]. Gupta et al (2016) put forward a non-uniform clustering algorithm EEUC (An Uneven Cluster-Based Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks).…”
