This study aims to know whether or not socio-economic indicators affect unemployment in Gorontalo Province. This study uses secondary data from 5 regencies and one city (Gorontalo Regency, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Utara Regency, Baalemo Regency, Pohuwato Regency, and Gorontalo City) from 2011 to 2020 sourced from journals, articles, and government agencies, such as Statistics of Indonesia. The data analysis technique uses panel data regression analysis. The finding shows that population growth has a negative and insignificant effect on unemployment in Gorontalo Province. Population growth will not necessarily reduce the unemployment rate in the Regencies/cities in Gorontalo Province. Economic growth has a negative and significant effect on unemployment in Gorontalo Province; every increase in economic growth can reduce the unemployment rate in the Regencies/cities in Gorontalo Province. Inflation has a negative and insignificant effect on unemployment in Gorontalo Province; inflation does not necessarily reduce the unemployment rate in the Regencies/cities in Gorontalo Province. The Human Development Index has a negative and significant effect on unemployment; This means that the increase in the human development index can reduce the unemployment rate in the Regency/City in Gorontalo Province.

Economic development is basically a series of policy efforts that have the aim of increasing the standard of living of the people, directing income distribution, and expanding employment opportunities. In efforts to develop the economy, employment is still a major issue. This is due to inequality in getting job opportunities. The growth in the number of the workforce with progress in various economic sectors is not balanced. The research aimed to study the effect of gross regional domestic product (GRDP), provincial minimum wage (PMW), and inflation on the open unemployment rate in East Java province. The research used secondary data for the period 2006 - 2017 which consists of the value of GRDP, East Java PMW, East Java province inflation, and East Java province open unemployment rate. By applying regression using panel data regression analysis, the research results show that GRDP and Inflation has a negative and significant effect on the open unemployment rate in East Java. The PMW has a positive and significant effect on the open unemployment rate in East Java Province. Nevertheless, the research highlights effect relation and government policy instruments.

In this analysis, the expected objective is to determine the influence of Education, Gross Regional Domestic Product, District Minimum Wage, and Population on the Open Unemployment Rate of Central Java Province in 35 Regencies/Cities in Central Java Province in 2020-2021. This study used the panel data method. The model which selected is Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the regression of this study shows that the variables of Education, Population Numbers have a large and favorable impact on the open unemployment rate. The District Minimum Wage variable turned out to effected negative and significant. Meanwhile, the variable Gross Regional Domestic Product has a positive and insignificant effect. Based on the simultaneous test of Education, the District Minimum Wage and Population Amount were significant at 93.84% and the remaining 6.16% was impacted by variables other than those considered in the model.
