“…The appeared peak at 680 cm −1 which is assigned for Pb−O−Pb results from the asymmetric bending vibrations [52]. The absorption peaks perceived at 1120 and 1450 cm −1 are recognized for C-O and H-O bonds, respectively [53,54]. Besides this, the optical bandgap energy of PbO-doped ZnO MSs is calculated from optical absorbance of ultra-violet visible light (UV-vis) as shown in Figure 2c.…”

“…However, we found that the bandgaps of Pt/WO 3 –C, Pt/WO 3 , and Pt/C are 2.6, 2.3, and 3.6 eV, respectively. Therefore, the bandgap of Pt/C shifts towards a lower value after the incorporation of WO 3 in the support, 63 and it has an important role in enhancing the electrocatalytic activity through the synergistic effect by surface plasmon resonance. The difference in bandgap value of Pt/WO 3 –C, Pt/WO 3 , and Pt/C could be demonstrated by the various morphologies and electron transfer mechanisms between the two components (WO 3 and Pt) of the catalyst.…”

“…The R ct value of the composite electrode containing WO 3 has a lower value, which may be because WO 3 can enhance the charge transfer at the interface between the electrode and the electrolyte containing methanol as well as higher electrical conductivity carbon, which accelerates the electron conduction ability significantly and increases the methanol catalytic activity accordingly. 63 The Bode phase curves found for the Pt/WO 3 -C, Pt/WO 3 , and Pt/C electrocatalysts are described in Fig. 8b.…”

“…The WC coatings considered in this work are deposited through chemical vapour deposition (CVD). CVD is a versatile vapour-phase process that is commonly used for synthesis of advanced materials including multi-length scale low-dimensional materials [14][15][16], optical and electronic thin films [17,18], and hard coatings [5,19]. The non-line-of-sight nature of CVD makes it ideal for coating deposition on parts with complex and intricate geometries, such as internal cavities and sharp corners.…”
