Optimal Design of a renewable energy power plant for an isolated site in Senegal

Abstract: International audienceThe exploitation of resources of renewable energy has become inescapable today. Indeed, facing the oil cost increase, the survival of the economies, particularly of the non oil-producing countries requires the evaluation and the exploitation of their energy potential. The purpose of this paper is to make an analysis of the electrical energy situation in Senegal and to show the relevance in the implementation of a hybrid power plant using renewable energy resources. The design is done to m… Show more

“…It represents an incontestable solution to meet Senegal's energy requirements thanks to its position (5.7 kWh / m 2 per day) and the law No. 2010-21, orientation law on renewable energies [1]. Based on this law, various photovoltaic solar power plants have been built since 2016.…”

“…This means of electricity supply is typically uneconomical due to the cost of shipping of fossil fuels and routine diesel generator maintenance [1]. The price of fossil fuels has kept increasing which has already caused a world-wide crisis [2]. As a result, constructing HRES in the Ha'apai group seems remarkably desirable in terms of both environmental and economic considerations.…”
