Optimization of multilayer electromagnetic shields: A genetic algorithm approach

Abstract: Composites filled with carbon nanoplatelets designed as multi-layer electromagnetic shields are considered because of their interesting electromagnetic characteristics, such as high electrical conductivity and excellent microwave absorption and shielding behaviour. Layers disposal, their composition and electrical parameters, number and thicknesses are optimized through a real-coded genetic algorithm to achieve the minimization of the transmitted waves and minimization of reflection loss of the absorbing compo… Show more

“…Different types of the carbon nanoparticles are well known and promising candidates as filler in polymer composites. Extraordinarily, electrical properties and specific shape with high aspect ratio (AR), relatively small volume concentrations of carbon nanotubes (CNT) or graphite nanoplatelets (GNP) required for percolation threshold achievement, allow us to produce composites with excellent percolation threshold, responsible for mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of a composite [ 1 8 ].…”

“…Loosli et al proposed a Tennessee Eastman process fault diagnosis method based on support vector machine and verified the effectiveness of the method. Thereafter, Sagalianov et al used genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the Tennessee Eastman process fault diagnosis method. Zhang et al proposed an improved method based on fuzzy theory and maximum inter‐cluster variance.…”
