Optimization of structural and dielectric properties of CdSe loaded poly(diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) polymer in a desired frequency and temperature window

Abstract: In the present paper, investigations of CdSe loaded poly(diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) nanocomposites and pure PDADMAC synthesized by wet chemical technique have been carried out. Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction analysis have been performed to reveal the structural details of pure polymer and polymer nanocomposite (PNC). The dielectric behavior of pure polymer and PNC has been recorded, which results in higher value of the real and imaginary part of dielectric constant for PNC,… Show more

“…XRD pattern of polyDADMAC contains two strong peaks at 2 theta angles equal to 31.35 and 45.14 degrees ( Figure 2 ). These peaks are in full agreement with the literature data [ 24 , 25 ]. The diffractogram of polyDADMAC ( Figure 2 ) also reveals bumps at 16.15, 21.4 and 27.1 degrees, which are difficult to ascribe.…”

“…Since the spur should be vertical for an ideal capacitance, the Rct value of the binary polymer nanocomposite (PTh-nAg 2 O) nanocomposite corresponds to the lowest frequency region relative to PTh. [45,46]. In comparison to PTh and other nanocomposites, the Rct value of the binary polymer nanocomposite (PTh-nAg 2 O) is in the region of the lowest frequency.…”

“…'n' is an exponent which is frequency dependent. Tyagi and Shrma [10] have also used the same law for conductivity measurements of CdSe loaded poly(diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) polymer. It is reported in literature that in conducting polymer, PDAN, polarons are responsible for conduction.…”

“…At higher frequency the AC conductivity increases due to inter and intra chain hopping of charge carriers (polaron/bipolaron). The enhanced conductivity shows that these nanocomposites can be used for charge storage applications [10,41]. (12) σ ac (ω) = Aω n (13) σ AC = G( ) * t A…”
