“…The results indicate that using SP (PCE2) to catch the target slump (mix 2) increased the compressive strength of the concrete in 11, 42, and 90 days up to 2,1.6 and 1.48 times respectively, in comparison with control samples (mix 1). Sathyan et al also indicated that using PCE based SP increased compressive strength compared to the control sample without SP because of the enhancement in workability. Applying AEA (1 wt%) with SP (0.7%) (mix 3) reduced the compressive strength of the samples in 11, 42, and 90 days up to 11%, 3%, and 9%, respectively, in comparison with the mixture without AEA (mix 2).…”

“…The PCE are composed of two main elements: a) the carboxylate group, which is anionic and allows interaction with the cement surface to produce dispersion and b) a polyethylene oxide side chain or a mixture of polyethylene-polypropylene to increase dispersion (Lei et al, 2022). PCE eliminates the segregation of concrete, gives it excellent dispersion of cement particles in water and accelerates the rate of hydration, setting and hardening (Khudhair et al, 2018), therefore, it increases the compressive strength and workability of concrete (Pereira et al, 2012), which increases the surface potential force, the solid-liquid affinity, and the steric hindrance (Sathyan et al, 2018;Tian et al, 2019), and prolongs the initial and final setting times . PCE superplasticizers were used to modify the surface of the sand in the preparation of the cement mortar and increased its compressive strength at 7 and 28 days of age (Noaman et al, 2020).…”

“…can be proven with the Abrams Harder color experiment by using NaOH solution. (Sathyan et al, 2018) d. The function of fine aggregates is to provide stability and reduce the permanent deformation of pavement through interlocking and friction between the grains (Sarah et al, 2019). For this reason, the external properties required are angularity and roughness.…”
