Optimized Calibration Procedure of the Damage Parameters of AA6082-T6 Sheets

Abstract: The constitutive equation of AA6082-T6 sheets is investigated by an extended Rousselier damage model. Previous research is mainly comprised of single-pull test specimens, notched tensile specimens, tensile specimens with a hole, and shear specimens. To decrease the natural material errors, a new specimen is used. In this paper, a clinched joint is regarded as a specimen to calibrate the initial void volume fraction kω and the shear damage parameter f0 by using the orthogonal analysis method, which can reduce t… Show more

“…These damage parameters were obtained by comparing experimental and simulation results [106]. F. Xu et al [109] used clinched joints to assess the predictive accuracy of the constitutive model and compare force-displacement deformation, shape of clinched joints and fracture location to further optimise the constitutive model as shown in Figure 8. They also used the orthogonal analysis method [25] to determine the range of the damage parameters.…”

“…They also used the orthogonal analysis method [25] to determine the range of the damage parameters. F. Xu et al [109] agreed that the modified Rousselier damage model can be used to predict the clinching process to propose a new experimental specimen to calibrate the damage constitutive model. Unfortunately, no research institution has compared the difference between the modified GTN damage model [80] and the modified Rousselier damage model [81], especially for predicting the clinching process and failure behaviour.…”

“…The purpose of the optimisation of parameters during SPS moulding was to reach the maximum conductivity. Orthogonal design is a kind of design method that is primarily used to study multiple factors and multiple levels [ 44 ]. The suitable level range reduces the number of optimisation design alternatives.…”

“…The Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) damage model [21] is a ductile failure criterion which has been used to study failure mechanism in many metals [22][23][24][25], including titanium alloys [26][27][28]. The GTN model considers nucleation, growth, and coalescence of micro-voids and void volume fraction, which can give a suitable view of the damage in a material [29].…”
