Opto(electrical) properties of triphenylamine-based polyazomethine and its blend with [6,6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester

Abstract: Polyazomethine (OFBF-TPA) based on triphenylamine (TPA) and octafluorobiphenyl (OFBF) moieties was tested as donor-acceptor (D-A) for bulk heterojunction polymeric solar cells. The temperatures of 5% weight loss (T 5% ) of the polyazomethine range from 323 to 328 C, depending on the gas used (air and nitrogen). The conductivity of OFBF-TPA was approximately 10 À10 S/cm for not annealed sample and at about 10 À6 S/cm for the ones annealed at room temperature, as determined by impedance spectroscopy. “…In addition, we studied the photovoltaic properties of liquid crystalline poly(siloxane-azomethine)s. The obtained PCE was approximately 0.01% Palewicz et al, 2011). Finally, we investigated polyazomethines with a triphenylamine group (Iwan et al, 2013b(Iwan et al, , 2014d, and a record PCE value of 0.56% was obtained for air-stable aromatic polyazomethine with triphenylamine moieties (Iwan et al, 2014d). In Table 1, the chemical structures and PCEs of all of the investigated polyazomethines for photovoltaic applications are summarized.…”

“…Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells are investigated in three main directions: (i) application of new polymers or small compounds, (ii) creation of new solar cell architectures and (iii) works we described photovoltaic properties of PAZ with TPA and octafluorobiphenyl moieties [26], thiophene and cardo moieties [27] and LC polyazomethines [28,29] (PCE = 0.04%, 1.47 × 10 −3 % and 0.01%, respectively).…”
