“…Semiconducting materials are an essential ingredient for the research and development of new, more efficient organic electronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic photovoltaic cells (OPV), organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), and also for the quickly evolving field of organic bioelectronics . Several successes have been achieved in the bioelectronics field, such as measuring neural activity, direct metabolite detection, controlling epileptiform activity or electrophoretic drug delivery .…”

“…Product (5) was collected by filtration of the solution as a white solid in 30 % yield (16.2 mg). 1 9-((4-((4-([2,2':6',2''-terpyridin]-4'-yl)phenyl)ethynyl) phenyl)ethynyl)-9H-carbazole (6). In a Schlenk flask, Pd(PPh 3 ) 2 Cl 2 (40.3 mg, 0.06 mmol) and CuI (11.0 mg, 0.06 mmol) were added to a solution of ((4-bromophenyl)ethynyl)trimethylsilane (17 (19) (93.2 mg, 0.30 mmol)in anhydrous THF (7 mL).…”

“…Expanding our previous approach to the preparation of Cbz-Tpy dyads such as 1 and 2 (Figure 1), we have designed and synthesized five new carbazole-terpyridine derivatives (3)(4)(5)(6)(7), in which the π-conjugated bridge between the donor and acceptor units is progressively elongated with acetylene, phenylene and even anthracene units.…”
