At the beginning of the 21st century, the world scientific community recorded the growth of climate change. This led to further study of climate change and forecasting its impact on economic sectors, including construction. The article discusses the features of climate change impact on the life cycle of capital construction facilities, measures to adapt construction facilities to climate change and mitigation measures. The aim of the article is to assess the degree of climate change influence during the entire life cycle of a capital construction facility. During the analytical study, the consequences of climate change in Russia that affect the life cycle of a construction object, and proposed adaptation measures at each stage of the life cycle. The article contributes to the theoretical substantiation of the impact of climate change on the construction industry and, in particular, on the life cycle of a capital construction facility.

Presently, due to the growing shortage of basic energy resources, the increase in the cost of their production and the presence of acute issues associated with environmental degradation, the integrated use of energy-saving measures and innovative energy-efficient technologies in the housing and utility industry is one of the necessary conditions for the successful development of the country's national economy and maintaining a favorable state of the environment. The use of modern energy-efficient materials and technologies in residential buildings, including during the overhaul of residential buildings, makes it possible to reduce energy consumption and save significant funds for citizens on utility bills.

Currently, megalopolises and large cities are characterized by the processes of renovation of existing residential buildings of previous periods of construction, as a rule of lower number of storeys. The issue of energy consumption during the renovation of buildings in dense urban areas is complex and systemic in nature and covers all stages of the life cycle of the development of residential areas due to the fact that the existing residential development is interconnected with the existing system of engineering networks and communications. In this regard, construction production in the process of demolition of old buildings and construction of new apartment buildings is of a specific nature, which should involve rationing and regulation of the consumption of fuel and energy resources. The article discusses the features of work at the demolition stage in the process of renovation of residential buildings, taking into account the consumption of fuel and energy resources by the main consumers - means of mechanization. Using the example of a five-story panel residential building, the total energy consumption during demolition by mechanical collapse and element-by-element disassembly with the preservation of suitable materials was determined, and the relationship between these two options was established.
