Otitis media

Abstract: Bacterial pathogens are isolated from middle ear fluid in up to 90% of children with acute otitis media (OM). Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis predominate. Acute OM can be classified as uncomplicated, persistent, recurrent or chronic.
