“…Por su importancia económica y sanitaria, la garrapata Rhipicephalus microplus es el ectoparásito que causa los mayores problemas en la ganadería en pastoreo en países tropicales (Rodríguez- Vivas et al, 2014). Existen otras especies de garrapatas con alta prevalencia como Otobius megnini (familia Argasidae), la cual ha cobrado gran importancia en las estaciones cuarentenarias, donde al inspeccionar al ganado bovino se desprende y es común encontrarla en casi todo el país (Rodríguez-Vivas et al, 2021).
