Outage Analysis of Relay-Assisted NOMA in Cooperative Cognitive Radio Networks with SWIPT

Abstract: In this paper, we investigate a relay-assisted cooperative spectrum sharing for the considered non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme in cognitive radio networks, where the relay node assists the base station (BS) to transmit the superimposed composite signal to two receivers by utilizing an amplified-and-forward (AF) technique with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). The exact expressions for outage probabilities of two receivers are derived in closed forms. Moreover, a joint o… Show more

“…In [ 14 ], a battery-assisted SWIPT relaying system was studied in Rayleigh fading, which makes the system can work nomally when the collected energy is not sufficient. In [ 15 ], the outage probability of SWIPT AF relay network with cooperative spectrum sharing was analyzed in Rayleigh fading. In [ 16 ], the outage performance of SWIPT in network-coded two-way relay systems was investigated in Rayleigh fading, where two transmission protocols, i.e., power splitting two-way relay (PS-TWR) and time switching two-way relay (TS-TWR) protocols were considered.…”

“…Despite the extensive study of either the CCRNs or the SWIPT-aided networks, the performance of SWIPT-enabled underlay CCRNs is still in the infancy stage. In particular, there only a few works addressing this combination [30][31][32][33]. Specifically, Prathima et al in [30] studied the performance of the primary networks with the help of the secondary users that also act as the relay of primary users.…”
