In this work, we propose a step-up switched-capacitor (SC) power converter for the display driver ICs. Based on available topology with full voltage-conversion-ratio, it achieves voltage-conversionratios (VCRs) from 1 to 2 n with only n (minimized number) flying capacitors. We focus on control scheme of the SC converter, and try to reduce the number of the power switches. Based on 0.18 m HVBCD process, a 3-stage SC converter has been designed, and the number of power switches has been reduced from 18 to 13. It has demonstrated performance improvements by 20% to 230% in the current-drive-capacity of the full VCRs, respectively. The maximum output current can be 12.2 mA, and the achieved peak efficiency is 93%.
