P44.05: Data analysis of 993 subjects of fetal malformations from 1999 to 2006

Abstract: The incidence rate of malformed fetuses was 22.54% in our study group. The ultrasound detection rate was 79.02% (1062/1344). Level III prenatal ultrasound were of great value in decreasing the abortion rate of ≥ 28 gestational weeks malformed fetuses, improving malformations detection rate. The differences of the above rates between before and after level III prenatal ultrasound were of scientific value, P < 0.05. Conclusions: Level III prenatal ultrasound is important in prenatal diagnosis. It is of great hel… Show more

“…Besides low-versus high-risk patient selection, the severity and location of a malformation is also critical. Some problems are commonly detected in ultrasonographic images, including severe fetal malformations or malformations of the central nervous system or the genitourinary system [8,9,14,21,22].…”

“…Other problems involving the facial area or the heart or the limbs will frequently go unnoticed [16,17,21,22,38,52]. For a number of years, a three-step concept has been recommended to minimize the risk of false diagnoses and to increase detection rates [4].…”
