PAH growth in flames and space: Formation of phenalenyl radical

Abstract: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are intermediates in the formation of soot particles and interstellar grains. However, their formation mechanisms in combustion and interstellar environments are not fully understood.
