“…Little is known about the mental health of total patient caregiver population, nurses and nurse assistants, in hospital setting during the COVID-19 post-epidemic era. The present study investigated the psychological health of patient caregivers in hospital setting and took it as a comparison group to better understand the mental health levels of caregivers of older adults in LTCFs setting which were long been overlooked ( 51 ). As the results showed, caregivers of older adults in LTCFs under strict closed management setting reported experiencing more severe symptom of depression, similar symptoms of insomnia and moderate to severe anxiety compared with patient caregivers in hospital setting.…”

Moreover, the following can be considered sub-aims: firstly, to describe the organization of a training course focused on communication, stress management and basic knowledge on aging and dementia for female HHCA; secondly, to provide descriptive data on health, burnout, and irrational beliefs about participants' care tasks and to explore the associations between these three variables.…”

“…The growing presence of these female professional caregivers at homes, nursing homes or hospitals, is not commensurate with the recognition they receive for their work, as they are, to some extent, invisible, yet actually ubiquitous, both to the scientific community and to political leaders (Hewko et al, 2015). In the UK, for example, it is estimated that there are up to 1.5 million female caregivers, as opposed to some half a million registered nurses working in various sectors (Schneider, 2017). In Spain, in 2007, half of the people receiving professional care received it at home.…”

“…Standardised training for new recruits in the UK is not a mandatory requirement. The introduction of the Care Certificate, however, is anticipated to contribute to the recognition of staff skills and formalising career pathways (Schneider, 2017).…”
