Palynological characteristics of selected Lamioideae taxa and its taxonomic significance

Abstract: Lamioideae comprised the second‐largest subfamily in Lamiaceae. Although considerable progress has recently been made in the taxonomic study of Lamioideae, the subfamily remains one of the most poorly investigated subfamily in Lamiaceae. Therefore, the present study was designed with the aim to document the pollen micromorphology of some selected Lamioideae taxa and its taxonomic significance from Pakistan. Pollen micromorphological features were observed using scanning electron microscopy. The pollen grains a… Show more

“…The chemically synthesized nanoparticles were cubic and spherical (Figure 2b). The SEM studies has revolutionized the bioscience and its various field to explore the ultra‐structure of nano‐particles (Saqib et al, 2020) and other plant materials as well (Ali et al, 2020; Amina et al, 2020; Ashfaq et al, 2020; Bahadur et al, 2018; Gul et al, 2019, 2020).…”

“…Microscopical techniques using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) have become popular to assess micromorphology of plants (Ayaz et al 2020, Lynn et al 2020, Silva-Fourny et al 2020, Gul et al 2021. Erdtman (1952) first described the pollen grains of papaya.…”
