Abstract

The rise of halal or sharia-based economy in the global economy has had a significant impact on other sectors such as banking, culinary, fashion, and life style. This is supported by the increasing Muslim population in the world and the rising incomes of the population in Muslim countries. The concept of halal was increasingly in demand by non-Muslims who later developed into halal tourism. Likewise with Banyuwangi, with the potential of nature tourism and want to improve the welfare of its population, create a tourist destination with the concept of Sharia is the Sharia Island Santen Island.Research attempts to uncover the characteristics of visiting tourists, what factors influence tourist visits, and find out what factors are strong and weakest that affect tourist visits on the Shores of Santen Island. The sample used in this research is 100 tourists who visit the Sharia Beach Santen Island by using accidental sampling technique. The data used are primary data based on questionnaires analyzed by percentage analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the characteristics of tourists are dominated by women (71%) with the age range of 17 to 25 years old (66%) with the status of students (67%), with his friend (71%) on the recommendation of his friend or brother.
