Abstract: The development of contraceptive methods is more focused on female contraception than men is still lacking. Papaya leaves are thought to have an antifertility effect due to the content of secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins and papain enzymes that have estrogenic effects that can disrupt hormone regulation in the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis.
