Papermaking Waste Sludge Fiber-Cement Composite Panel: Stabilization and Solidification of High Fe and Ti Content-Petrochemical Ash

Abstract: MOHAMMADKAZEMI, F. Papermaking waste sludge fi ber-cement composite panel: stabilization and solidifi cation of high Fe and Ti content-petrochemical ash. CERNE, v. 24, n. 4, p. 303-311, 2018. HIGHLIGHTSEffect of papermaking waste sludge, petrochemical ash, and metakaolin was investigated.Toxicity, MOR, MOE, FT, IB, WA, density, and XRD patterns were compared.Successful stabilization and solidifi cation of heavy metals occurred.

“…The biomaterial which can be obtained by a suitable biorefinery technique from fly ash can be used for versatile engineering applications as a biocomposite. The prospective application of fly ash as a biomaterial is by converting the minerals into their polymer counterpart via geo-polymerization which normally are referred to as geopolymers (Mohammadkazemi 2018 ; Yoon-moon and Naik 2005 ).…”

“…The amount of iron detected was 8.5 % for MAC-CP and 10.8 % for MAC-MW. The occurrence of silicon in all materials, with atomic concentrations ranging between 2.5 % and 9.9 %, might be due to the specific composition of paper mill sludge, which has been shown to contain this element [53,54],…”
